Mairead Murphy is a Melbourne-based illustrator and designer. She comes from a background in Interior Architecture. Mairead brings a keen eye for composition and an appreciation of texture to her work. While her passion for design continues at Maike Design Studio, she has just always really loved to draw.
There is a strong art deco sensibility to the patterns she creates. Even though her designs feature animals and caricatures, the placement is artistically attractive. The From Up Here design features flamingos, peacocks, parrots and toucans. It is one of our most popular designs. These characters are illustrated with sharp clear and geometrical lines.
