Colors of the Year
Several different brands from interiors to high fashion celebrate a color of the year. This highlights a focus for these various companies and their marketing in the coming year. Sometimes these trends are similar. However, this year, they are pretty far apart. We like to focus on paint brands because in the world of interiors, if one were to follow these projections, consumers may also be looking for matching wallpaper trends for 2025.
The big three paint brands are Benjamin Moore, Behr and Sherwin Williams. Benjamin Moore has a countdown on their website for the announcement of their Color of the Year on October 15, 2024. So for now, we’ll focus on Behr and Sherwin Williams. Behr’s Color Of The Year for 2025 is called “Rumors.” Rumors is a deep ruby red that “has a warm energy and elegant ambience that confidently allows you to express yourself and brings a touch of luxe into any living space,” (Behr.com). Sherwin Williams partnered with HGTV Home to announce their 2025 Color of the Year called “Quietude.” It is described as a “soft sage with a whisper of blue influence, Quietude is an emerging color for enduring design and soothes any space inside or out.” (hgtvhomebysherwinwilliams.com)
Let’s have a look at some wallpaper designs that might match these fabulous colors.
Exotic Animal Wallpaper
We’re pretty accustomed to seeing birds and cuddle-worthy animals in wallpaper designs. They give us a taste of the natural world without upsetting the balance of our homes. However, we’ve seen a move towards more exotic animals in wallpaper with the intention of bringing a sense of excitement and intrigue to the space. Bring on the snake wallpaper! These designs bring an exotic flavor to interiors that brings out the oohs and ahhs.
Western-Themed Wallpaper
Pop culture is having a love affair with everything western. From popular tv series like Yellowstone to Beyonce’s one-off country album, the cowboy vibes are going strong. Whether you’re going for campy and kitchy, rough and rugged or looking for something that harkens to the wild frontier, these country, western and cowboy wallpaper designs bring the spirit of the Wild West to your interior. With Kevin Costner’s new films and country music artists crossing over to the pop world in greater and great numbers, this style is showing no signs of slowing.
Traditional, Vintage, Classic and Grandmillennial Wallpaper
We’re seeing a big shift toward wallpaper designs that would be considered vintage or traditional lately. We expect to see much more of this wallpaper trend in 2025. Some might call these grandmillennial wallpapers as they typically harken back to the designs you might see pre 1950. The appreciation for these classic wallpapers has been reignited.

Wallpaper Murals & Wallpaper Immersion
Total immersion was something we started to see last year and the wallpaper trend will be going strong in 2025. We are seldom seeing the use of accent wall lately. Now we’re seeing both murals and wallpaper patterns completely wrapping the rooms and even including the ceiling.

Ceiling Wallpaper
Speaking of ceilings, things are looking up for this wallpaper trend in 2025. Wallpapering the ceiling is becoming a more and more popular tool for transforming a space. Being one of the more difficult type of installations hasn’t stopped this craze. Framing Wallpaper
In last year’s trend blog, we were starting to see interesting ways that wallpaper was being used in panels and other joinery. We’re regularly seeing this trend increase where home decor enthusiasts are framing wallpaper as works of art on their wall. With designs this beautiful, we can totally see why.
Sometimes it’s a tool that can be used when a wall’s dimensions are too big for a mural. It allows the use of the mural without blank wall space around it so that it seems more intentional. Otherwise, it simply works as a frame that you might use for any piece of art.

Certain designs are always in style like floral, tropical and geometric wallpapers. However, they don’t always drive the trends. We think we’ll see more classic luxury wallpapers leading the way. We’ll see designs that compliment the color of the year projections. We’ll find more wallpapers on ceilings and framed in ways that create truly unique spaces that express the individuality of the decor enthusiast. Now all we have to do is wait and see what the wallpaper trends of 2025 truly turnout to be.
