La Trinidad Palace retains a noble charm on 11,000 square footage of land, surrounded by beautiful gardens, ponds, fountains and sculptures. The late regionalist eclectic style stands out when neighboring buildings are rising with a more modern and functionalist aesthetic. It features a wide range of spaces, from the guest pavilion, the small palace and elaborate gardens. It boasts of a majestic hall, lounges, alcoves, terraces and grottoes.
Casa Decor brings together designers, brands and the general public. Last year’s event hosted around 44,000 visitors, which included 153 companies and 55 design studios. There were also artist and artisan workshops. About half of the attendees were from outside Spain’s borders.
Luckily, Milton & King was on hand to experience the brilliance of Casa Decor 2024 first hand. Let’s take a look at some notable spaces that have come out of the exhibition
Sandra Anton Studio
PROJECT CONCEPT. This space is based on the representation of a suite, either from a large private mansion or a luxury hotel in a large capital. We have represented the front of the National Auditorium of Madrid in all its splendor and history, highlighting the coffered ceiling on the roof by the architect García de Paredes and, of course, taking as a basis the main organ of the Symphony Hall as the great headboard of our space.
TRENDS, INNOVATION AND MATERIALS. The brass plating of the headboard, the protagonist of the space. How a well-designed piece can organize and decorate the space without needing anything else. We innovate with the design and manufacture of lasting pieces through artisan hands.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE #CasaDecorSostenible CAMPAIGN. The materials used in the space: marble, wood, iron, speak for themselves. They last over time. The artisan workshops that create and manipulate them – marble makers, cabinet makers, gilders… – ensure that the cycle of use of these materials does not stop. The new generations of these workshops inherit ancestral techniques applied in a modern way.

INSPIRATION The fresh and natural spirit of the beach houses of the American coast. It hasn’t been difficult for us to fall in love with this decorative style. It is refreshing, cozy, elegant, nothing ostentatious and with a natural and always playful touch. Regarding the color range used, we think that if there are two colors that combine and, at the same time, are enhanced in this type of decoration, they are blue and white.
TRENDS Highlight the return to the natural world, both in its aesthetics and in the selection of organic materials used.
MATERIALS Wood, glass, stone, fabrics and natural fibers are the protagonists of the space and contribute to creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere, which invites rest and relaxation.
SUSTAINABILITY Our commitment to the environment is present in all our projects. On this occasion, we have recycled/reused materials and decorative elements from our store, as well as pieces that had been used in other productions. In addition, we have tried to reuse the existing facilities in the space, even determining their distribution, to reduce the level of debris as much as possible. Once the Exhibition ends, all the elements will have a second life, either in our suppliers’ exhibitions or in our own company.

In the heart of the old chapel, a wellness space rises fusing the mystical essence of the place with the modernity of contemporary design. In a symbiosis of dim lights and natural elements, this sanctuary invites you to a unique experience of introspection and renewal.
The space recreates a ritual through the bathroom experience. The sink, a symbol of purification, welcomes visitors. Next to it, a toilet and a bidet offer comfort and functionality in harmony with the environment. In the center of the nave, a high-height shower stands majestically, a monument to saving water and caring for the environment. Its innovative design, inspired by Roca technology, allows a closed circuit that minimizes consumption without sacrificing the sensory experience. In the apse, the centerpiece of the space, a bathtub invites rest and contemplation. Surrounded by the chapel’s original walls, which elegantly show its decay, this bathtub is an oasis of calm amid the bustle of the outside world.

PROJECT CONCEPT. Pure emotion; love, passion, life… We intend to bring to the surface those sensations, which are often dormant and which keep us alive.
TRENDS, INNOVATION AND MATERIALS. Without following any trend, we propose a fun, daring and timeless design. Full of pure lines contrasted with very powerful organic touches. For this sensory experience, we have chosen, as always, noble materials in their purest form, such as natural stone, mixed with other high-gloss materials, creating a world of textures and reflections.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE #CasaDecorSostenible CAMPAIGN. At Mandalay we give a second, or several, lives to the pieces and materials we use, since we are specialized in antiques; and those that are not, we recycle them both in our showroom and in our projects.

PROJECT CONCEPT. Opera Prima is inspired by Ridolfo Luigi Boccherini, who was an Italian composer and cellist who lived in Spain since he was twenty-five, where he developed most of his career. The concept of the project is extracted from his life and career.
TRENDS, INNOVATION AND MATERIALS. Establish unique codes of elegance, balance and comfort. Without the attachment to purity of style, but rather to creating its own language of interior haute couture with an elegant, eclectic, bold and fresh vocabulary. Noble materials, such as wood, marble and brass, used to create a captivating atmosphere with a strong character.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE #CasaDecorSostenible CAMPAIGN. Enhancement of traditional trades such as cabinetmaking and stonemasonry. The intervention of the space is carried out with utmost neatness, recovering it with respect and care, to guarantee environmental balance and leave the minimum footprint of waste.

What would it be like if Visconti were alive or, better yet, if he woke up in 2024 and entrusted us with his office?
References like Mongiardino would surely appear. We would have things from the past, like his office table, but I would discover that Italian design has evolved; Yes, without ever losing that touch of luxury and glamour, always remembering the foundations of the Italian business conglomerate that created a strong country thanks to that fabric that includes artisans, big brands and firms that have become international and that have always promoted design. . Colorful like his films, irreverent like his person, singular and unique like his films: this is this “Visconti” presidential office, from Espacio Italia.
A complete canvas as if it were a blue backdrop, the shiny lacquers that surround a stone fireplace and wooden pallet, a gazebo that works as a meeting table, or even, for fun dinners, furniture that shows a style and elegance that makes anyone want to have them or live in a space like this. Because interior design, like movies, inspires, and makes us dream about how we want to live.
