The Kingston 6 Townhouse Bedroom Makeover is a project styled by Karina Matalon for her design firm Casa Tropikana. Her client wanted a refresh of the master bedroom in their residential townhouse. The goal was to create a relaxing space with storage solutions to keep unsightly items like baby toys, diaper caddies and other items for their toddler and newborn out of sight, while still being accessible. The result is a modern, neutral, and very stylish Caribbean master bedroom.
“The area rug was actually installed upside down. I much preferred the backing of the rug as it was super soft and had a really cool pattern and luckily the clients went along with my unconventional idea!”
“We were debating putting mirrors over the cabinets and I even purchased them, but once the wallpaper was installed it was way too beautiful to cover even a small portion of it up! We ended up using the mirrors in another area of the home.”
“I used oversized down pillow inserts in each throw pillow for the perfect fluffy look. 28″ inserts for the 26” euro pillow covers and 24” inserts for the 22” pillow covers.”
