While I’m sure someone out there will disagree, when we think of fun wallpaper, we generally aren’t thinking about faux materials like brick, wood paneling, marble or tile-looking wallpapers. Stripes and geometric wallpaper designs are also generally out. I say “generally” because in some instances, a colorful geometric or colorful stripe wallpaper can add a fun element to a room. A colorful stripe that is paired with other elements or where the stripes aren’t so perfect can add just the right amount of wonk to be a quirky fun wallpaper addition. As with most types of fun, it is often best kept within specific parameters. We all know that a night out eventually needs to come to an end. Even when watching a movie, there is a point at which the fun movie can go on too long. The same idea applies to wallpaper. So what are the best places to put a fun wallpaper?
Powder rooms and bathrooms are often the best places to experiment with a fun wallpaper because they are walled off from the rest of the home. You can do things in these spaces that can’t be seen from the entryway, the living room or any other common area. You can be as wild as you want with your decor in these spaces so don’t hold back.
